I could have fit fine into a medium, but I went with a large to be able to wear a sweater underneath and I'm glad I did. This jacket is not too boxy nor too fitted, just right for a medium sized body. I am busty and this jacket buttons up fine top to bottom.Totally worth the price. For reference I am 5'5", 150-155.
