These were for my husband, who likes to tinker on his boat and in the yard now that he is retired. He likes them longer rather than short as he never wore shorts much and really is getting used to them wearing those and others I purchased at Amazon for him. But To Each His/Her Own!!!These do not meet my ideal dimensions, but they will be OK. I have two issues. The waist on the 34 is tighter than most 34" pants these days, but its probably a true 34inches. The other thing is that these shorts have wider legs than I would have wanted. They look a little baggy on me. I wish they were a little narrower even though they are a relaxed fit. I have some fat around my waist and my legs are not thick. So if you have a lean waist line and thicker legs they would be awesome for you.
